Flowers are a mystery to me, I enjoy them from afar but when it comes to actually grow my own I am the angel of death. Lucky for me we have these darling little flower stands right near where we live and we can pick up seasonal and lovely flowers nearly year-round. I think it’s important to treat yourself every now and again to a bouquet of brightly colored flowers its shocking how such a simple thing can brighten up a mood, a room, and take something ordinary to extraordinary.
This particular flower came to me by my sweet friend Sandra she happened to be stopping at one of our favorite flower stands and asked if I wanted a bouquet, of course, I said yes! When she arrived it was the most darling bouquet wrapped in brown paper and brimming with the bright colors of spring. But, what stood out more than any of the other flowers was this gorgeous yellow dahlia. Dahlias are complex in their simplicity there are many layers that make up this flower kind of like a human and that is what makes them so special, each one is one of a kind. I found myself drawn to that particular flower every time I walked into my kitchen the cheerful color called to me asking to be looked it and goggled over. Dahlia’s are symbols of grace, elegance, enduring strength, creativity, and change. Maybe I am drawn to this delicate flower because those are all things I strive for in my own life daily? I hope that someday I overcome my fear of growing flowers so I can have a whole garden of these lovely blooms to remind me to stand stall, stay strong, be creative and not fear change.
